Cheerleading ***CANCELLED***

The Green Hornets Cheerleading coaching staff have been keeping a close eye on pandemic-related restrictions as they have been imposed and lifted.
 
As an organization, we are committed first and foremost to the safety of our athletes. We were hopeful that a fall season could still happen as restrictions were eased and public spaces began to open. Unfortunately, given the unique nature of our sport, we have made the decision to cancel the fall season. 

This decision was not made lightly, and was based on several factors. - Cheerleading requires very close, face-to-face contact for stunting, an integral part of what we do. Current guidelines prohibit this.- With the uncertainty around schools reopening in the fall, we may not have indoor practice space available to us. Safe practices for cheer require cushioned mats that are not available to us at an outdoor space.- While we do cheer at football games, our goals for each season are centered around participating in competitions in the fall. These competitions are held in indoor spaces with huge crowds, and we don't know if they will be held this year at all.  - Refund policies- if we do begin a season with the intent of participating in competitions and these events are not held, refunds will not be available. 

Our hope at this time is to put our efforts toward a winter season, depending on public health guidelines at that time.
