TRACK & FIELD
Notice: GH does not have access to SPHS track this summer, location is still TBD
The Green Hornets' Track and Field Program runs 6 weeks during June and July and is available for ages of five to fourteen. The goal is to introduce track and field events and conditioning. Practices are run as a circuit rotating through the different events as well as agility drills.
Registration takes place during the summer/fall registration period.
We regularly reach capacity prior to closing, so register early.
Our coaches are parent volunteers and current/former members of the local area high school track teams. The format is entirely local. Meets are between GH Track and Field members only.
2026 SEASON: The 2026 season will run from June 15, 2026 through July 31, 2026. All practices and meets will be held at TBD. Practices are three days a week Monday and Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m and Friday from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. The Season is highlighted by four meets on the final four Fridays of the season from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Additionally, during the regularly scheduled practice times there will be a hurdles meet and a relay meet.
Meets can only be held when we have enough parent volunteers, so please volunteer when you can.

- SHOT PUT(ages 9 and up only)
- DISCUS (ages 9 and up only)

- HIGH JUMP (ages 9 and up only)
VOLUNTEERS
The Track & Field Program has been very successful thanks in large part to the many active volunteers - parents as well as high school athletes. We are always looking for volunteers to help with instruction, timing, measuring, the ribbon table, etc. If you have an interest, please do not hesitate to get involved!!
AGE RANGE: Players are grouped according to gender and age. The five age groups that we have are:
5 - 6: 08/01/2021 - 07/31/2019
7 - 8: 08/01/2019 - 07/31/2017
9 - 10: 08/01/2017 - 07/31/2015
11 - 12: 08/01/2015 - 07/31/2013
13 -14: 08/01/2013 - 07/31/2011
