SPRING 2026 BOYS REC AND SELECT LACROSSE

Welcome to the 2026 Green Hornets Boys Lacrosse season!

Program Overview by Age Group

Pre-K & Kindergarten (Nuggets)
Our youngest players focus on learning the fundamentals of lacrosse in a fun, energetic, and age-appropriate environment.
Teams: 8 total Pre-K + Kindergarten teams
Schedule: One weekday practice, the day/time is determined by the Coach
Sunday mornings include a practice followed by a game
Sunday Time - 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM 
Locations: Shipley’s Choice or Kinder Farm Park

1st & 2nd Grade (Stingers)
This level continues skill development while introducing more game structure.
Teams: 8 total 1st + 2nd grade teams
Schedule: One weekday practice, the day/time is determined by the Coach
Sunday mornings include a practice followed by a game
Sunday Time - 10:30 AM - 12:00 AM 
Locations: Shipley’s Choice or Kinder Farm Park

2nd Grade – County Program
At the 2nd grade level, families will see three different program options, depending on experience and interest:

Select Team:  Roster already formed - Code will be provided to families for Registration
This team has been practicing and competing since September.
If you are interested in the 2026/27 season, tryouts will be in Late/ Early July 

County Team: Select Rec when Signing up online
Tryouts are in early March to finalize the roster
Competes in the Anne Arundel County (AACO) 6v6 league
Practices twice per week
Games on Saturdays around the county

Stingers Recreational (Rec) Team: Details above
Ideal for newer players or families seeking a lighter commitment
Players choosing Rec do NOT need to attend the County tryout.

3rd – 8th Grade Recreational Lacrosse
Traditional AACO format 
PeeWee 3rd & 4th Grade
Middie 5th & 6th Grade
Juniors 7th & 8th Grade
One to two practices per week (age dependent)
One game each weekend

Select Boys’ Lacrosse (2036-2032) - CODES WILL BE PROVIDED BY YOUR COACH
Compete in the Howard County Lacrosse league (regional League) 
These rosters have already been filled for the 2025/26 season. 
Tryouts are in Late June/Early July

Team Placement & Roster Requests (Pre-K – 2nd Grade)
We understand that families often have requests regarding teammates or coaches. At the Pre-K through 2nd grade levels, we do our VERY BEST to accommodate these requests. Our priority is ensuring that every child knows someone on their team—whether a classmate or friend. While we can’t guarantee every request, please know that team placement is done thoughtfully and with care.

Volunteers Needed
Our program depends heavily on parent volunteers. We are always in need of head coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, and support volunteers across all age groups. Volunteering is a great way to stay involved and support the Green Hornets community.

Important Dates
Registration Opens: January 15th, 2026
Practices Begin: Early March (weather permitting)
Season Ends: Late May for County and Rec Teams/ Late June for Select teams
