How to Register Parents' Pledge of Conduct Fields And Facilities Weather

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the 2017-2018 Wrestling Season as we were not able to get a volunteer to serve as Wrestling Commissioner. Without someone willing to be in charge of the program, we were not able to proceed with the season. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

2017-2018 Wrestling Team

ABOUT: Welcome to Green Hornets Wrestling Page. We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward to having fun and developing well-rounded wrestlers . We welcome wrestlers at any level - from beginner to intermediate and advanced. We will have the capacity to meet the needs and elevate the level of all wrestlers. We will field a B Team and depending on numbers, experience level, and progress of our wrestlers during the season - we hope to lay the foundation for the development of a strong A Program. The following components will be incorporated in every practice:

  1. Technique - Wrestlers will develop a solid foundation of high-percentage wrestling moves and progress to more advanced techniques as the season moves forward. Wrestlers will learn from experienced coaches
  2. Strength Training - In every practice we will incorporate strength training exercises that will enhance a wrestler's ability to be successful in this sport.
  3. Conditioning - Practices will be fun and up-tempo and will include activities, drills, games, and competitions that will improve a wrestlers endurance. In order to be successful in wrestling, endurance is key. We want to develop wrestlers who do not fatigue in the 3rd period.
  4. Mental Toughness - We want to develop wrestlers who have the confidence and the mental toughness to take on new challenges and to handle adversity. We will work with wrestlers to set goals and equip them with strategies to reach these goals.
  5. Fun & Team Building - Even though wrestling can be considered an individual sport, we will emphasize the importance of the team concept throughout the season and engage in activities and experiences that will promote camaraderie among teammates. Practices will include fun and competitive games that promote teamwork and that emphasize skills needed for success in wrestling.
