BOYS CLINIC SOCCER PROGRAM
PRACTICE FIELD USAGE POLICY

Use of a field is a privilege. Failure to observe these guidelines or otherwise be inconsiderate of your fellow coaches and our players will result in the loss of this privilege. Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players.

  1. Keep to your assigned practice slot – field and venue
  2. Keep to your assigned start and end times.
  3. Leave the field with equipment - rebounders and other training aids, etc. - on the field edges.
  4. Make sure the goals are returned to their required location – at SPHS, this means off the field in the area they are required to be in, and elsewhere, in their typical locations.
  5. Avoid overuse of any one area, especially the goal area. Rotate areas from session to session, or different from where the preceding session’s coach was using.
  6. When using a goal, offset or otherwise reorient it so as to involve typically less used areas of the field.
  7. Avoid using the field for warm-up, conditioning and individual technical activities. There is no advantage to doing stretching in the penalty area. Seek out to use the grassy, non-field areas to the extent your location allows.
  8. Clean up trash. This is absolutely critical at SPHS – it doesn’t matter whether the trash is “yours” or not, please remove it.
  9. Resolve conflicts diplomatically by always thinking of what's best for the players and club.
  10. Report any safety hazard (field, equipment) to a club representative and use good judgment to ensure the safety of the players.
  11. Use good judgment when evaluating whether an area of a field, or the entire field itself, is suitable for usage, whether for possible field damage or safety.
  12. Last team is responsible for ensuring all lights are off.
Special SPHS Instructions
  1. GSPAA teams may take the field only after the high school team which was using it is completely done for the day, regardless of if the high school usage is going beyond the normally scheduled time.
  2. SPHS goals must be off the fields after practice and in the area they are require to be in.
  3. All trash on and around the field must be removed and placed in trash cans.
  4. Use good judgment when evaluating whether an area of a field, or the entire field itself, is suitable for usage, whether for possible field damage or safety.
  5. Restrict the activities to soccer.
