1: Q. When can I expect to hear about my son or daughter's team?

A. Coaches will contact parents by the 3rd week of Auguest ... actual calendar dates will be posted online when the registration process is complete and we know how many teams we will have in each age group division. Teams usually start forming in mid-August. If you have not heard from anyone by the last week of August, please contact the Clinic Director or GSPAA Registration. See the web site for contact information.

2: What are the days, times, and location(s) where practices are held during the week?

A. Practices start after school begins. Check back here for the actual opening soccer game weekend which will be a Saturday in mid-September.

Clinic teams typically practice twice a week during the season. Some teams switch to once a week practices later in the season. All practices are usually held at Cypress Creek Park and start at or after 5pm. Practice times and days are worked out between among the league coordinator for the age group and each team's head coach.

3: Q. When and where are games played?

A. Clinic games are held on Saturdays. Depending on the league, some games may start at 8am. All the league games are usually over by mid-afternoon. All games are played at Cypress Creek Park.

4: Q. Can my child be on our neighbor's team, for car pooling purposes?

A. Carpooling requests can be made on the registration form. Age group coordinators attempt to honor carpooling requests to the extent possible. However, the age group coordinators must also ensure that team skill levels are as balanced as possible.

5: Q. What is the difference between Club, County, and Regional Soccer?

A. Clinic soccer is especially designed for 4 to 6 year olds, and is overwhelmingly instruction rather than competitive. Club soccer is a completely "in-house" league with all games played against other Green Hornets teams at Severna Park Middle School on Saturdays. County soccer involves league play within Anne Arundel County. Some travel is required but only within Anne Arundel County. Regional soccer involves play against teams in the Baltimore or Washington metro areas. Extensive travel may be required within Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

6: Q. My child has special needs (i.e. asthma, allergies, etc.), can that be accommodated?

A. Green Hornets makes every attempt to accommodate children with specific health concerns. Each parent needs to address special needs with their family physician prior to engaging in organized sports. Specific health issues should be discussed with the head coach of the team. Depending on the severity of the condition, constant parent presence on the field during practices and games may be required. Green Hornets coaches are not trained to provide medical assistance and are not authorized to provide medical assistance except in the case of life-threatening injuries.
