Green Hornets Soccer Clinic 2008 GENERAL
The Clinic program lasts ten weeks. Practices are held on Wednesdays for 45 minutes at Cypress Creek Park . Games are played on Saturday mornings for 60 minutes at Cypress Creek Park .
Team size is limited to 14 players to maximize playing time and coach to player ratio.
REGISTER EARLY! Registration will close when all teams are filled; there has been a waiting list for the past two years.
Players should wear weather-appropriate athletic clothing and shin guards to each game and practice; cleats are recommended but not required. Bring a size 3 ball and water to each game and practice.
Players will receive a jersey and pair of soccer-socks at the Meet and Greet, shorts are not provided, no specific shorts color is required.

08/23/08 (Sat) – Coaches to contact players by August 23
08/25/08 (Mon) – COACHES/ASSISTANT COACHES ONLY – Mandatory meeting/training at Severna Park High School from 6:00–9:00
08/27/08 (Wed) – Meet and Greet for players, parents, coaches at Lower Kinder Soccer Fields (U04s at 4:30, U05s at 5:30, U06s at 6:30)
09/03/08 (Wed) – Practices Begin at Cypress Creek (U04s at 4:30, U05s at 5:30, U06s at 6:30)
09/06/08 (Sat) – Games Begin at Cypress Creek (U04s at 9:00, U05s at 10:30, U06s at 12:00)
10/04/08 (Sat) – Picture Day (Rain Location: TBD)
11/05/08 (Wed) – Last practice
11/08/08 (Sat) – Last game, trophies distributed
MEET AND GREET
The Wednesday before Labor Day, August 27, players and parents will meet the coaches and receive uniforms and additional information regarding practices, games, and more.
PRACTICES
All Clinic practices will be held on Wednesdays at Cypress Creek Park starting on September 3 according to the following schedule:
U4s (07/31/03 – 08/01/04): 4:30-5:15
U5s (07/31/02 – 08/01/03): 5:30-6:15
U6s (07/31/01 – 08/01/02): 6:30-7:15
Switching to the following in mid October to adjust for daylight:
U4s (07/31/03 – 08/01/04): 4:30-5:00
U5s (07/31/02 – 08/01/03): 5:15-5:45
U6s (07/31/01 – 08/01/02): 6:00-6:30
Teams practice on the same field as their team number, ex., teams 401, 501, 601 practice on field 1.
GAMES
All Clinic games will be held on Saturdays at Cypress Creek Park starting September 6 according to the following schedule.
U4s (07/31/03 – 08/01/04): 9:00-10:00 a.m.
U5s (07/31/02 – 08/01/03): 10:30-11:30 a.m.
U6s (07/31/01 – 08/01/02): 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Exact schedules will be posted online and on the fence around the port-a-pots at Cypress Creek.
Games are facilitated by the Coaches on the field, there are no referees, they are played 3v3 on small fields with pop-up goals and no Keepers. There are four 12-minute quarters.
Each team plays games on two adjacent fields simultaneously, in essence creating two game-day teams of seven. With team size limited to 14 players and a typical game-day attrition of two players, each player is guaranteed maximal playing time.
