ABOUT: Welcome to Field Hockey- the greatest girls sport! Green Hornets Field Hockey participates in the Anne Arundel County Fall sports program. We are the largest Field Hockey organization in the county; in 2010, we fielded over 300 girls among 17 teams. Our mission is to provide a positive team experience, while teaching solid field hockey skills to our girls. We have a wonderful group of volunteer coaches who dedicate countless hours to this sport and our organization. Girls- play hard, have fun. Parents- cheer loud, enjoy the games. Sticks down and work together!!

AGE RANGE: Girls must be 8 years old by the start of the season, which is typically the first week of September, to play Green Hornets field hockey. The teams are organized by school grade level at time of the season as follows:

Middie: 5th and 6th Grade
Junior: 7th and 8th Grade
Senior: High School (Seniors register directly with county- See link below)

TEAM ASSEMBLY: At the Pee Wee level, teams are mainly determined by school grade level and school attended. Thereafter, teams are typically determined by coach or parent request. Parents should use the Special Request section of the online registration form to request a team with a specific coach, school mates, or carpools. We do our best to accommodate all requests.
Starting in 2011, we will hold tryouts for Middie and Junior competitive A division teams.
