- Age Range: The squads are broken down by age and cheer for their peers. Our date range is based on their age as of September 2, 2007. If your daughter was born between September 2, 1994 and September 2, 1998 she would be a candidate for this division.
- Costs: The registration cost is $280.00. $180 is due at on-line registration which needs to be done by Friday, June 1st; and $100 on August 1st. This covers the loan of the uniform, camp gear & Advanced Camp; a two full day camp setting the foundation for the competitive year and the two Fall Competitions. Starting August 15th through December 15th a monthly payment of $51 is due. The fees may be paid up front at registration as well. Once the Fall cheer season is over, there is an $80 winter fee* to cover the remaining competitions from January to March. If a team meets their fundraising goals, then the fee will be removed.
- Season Opening: You first event will be to attend the last two days of the Club Clinic to assist in demonstrating stunting on Thursday July 31st and Friday August 1st from 6-8 pm at Kinder Park on the fields in between the concession stands, the baseball fields and the tennis courts. If you are a new Hornet Select Cheerleader you will need to attend the entire week so that you may learn the Hornet cheers and chants. Commissioners Clinic, Monday July 28th to Friday August 1st.
- Season Practices: Your practices begin Monday, August 4th at Kinder Park from 6-8, every Monday & Thursday for the 12 & Under and every Monday and Wednesday for the 14 & Under. You will move indoors by mid September, 12 & Under to Jones Elementary and 14 & Under to Oak Hill Elementary.
- Advanced Camp: As a Select Cheerleader you will have a two day at 6 hours each day advanced camp which will be the foundation for your competitive year. The camp will be run by Spirit Unlimited. The 12 & Under camp and the 14 & Under camp will be announced at a later date.
- Gear: We provide you with the uniform, skirt & shell. We would greatly appreciate your input on sizing so that we can be sure we have an appropriate size for each athlete. Please go to www.cheerdeals.com/size_charts.htm and measure as requested. It is a bit of work, but worth it for the fit of your child's uniform. Select Cheerleading has a required gear purchase which is part of your Select fees. The gear portion of the fees is the $255 which can be paid on the monthly schedule from August-December on the 15th of every month. The items included are a warm-up, gym bag, shoes, hair bow and gift from me. You will receive the order forms for sizing purposes in late August.
- Games: Games begin the weekend of Labor Day and run through November 1st. If your team makes the playoffs they will run until Thanksgiving Weekend. We have one game a week either on Friday evening, anytime Saturday from 9 am - 8 pm or on Sunday between 9 am and 8 pm. There are the occassional Wednesday or Thursday night games, but they are rare. There are at least 10 football teams and 5 cheerleading squads. Your squad will be assigned 3 teams to support. If the size of your team permits and your coaches allow, you may split your squad on game days in order to cheer for more teams.
- Competitions: You will have a competition in the first week of October at 6 Flags on a Sunday, one in November/December, one in January/February and the last two you will travel in March, TBD (furthest sites are Atlantic City & VA Beach).

This is the company we did most of our competitions with, Cheer and Dance Extreme: www.cheeranddanceextreme.com- End of Season Festivities: Once the season has concluded the Select Teams will hold a banquet together to celebrate their season. The SPGH will pay for the cheerleader and give her a trophy.
- Fundraising: There is a one time fundraising requirement of all SPGH Cheerleaders. You will receive the forms in late August and then the delivery will be in mid September for Joe Corbi's. We ask for a $100 net from each athlete. There will be awards to the highest sellers.
