*For the Select Program, these are tryouts and only selected boys will make the team, with the rest entered into the Club Program. It is mandatory that boys trying out for a select team make at least one of the first two tryouts, and are encouraged to make as many of the dates as they can. For the Club Program, these are evaluations conducted with the goal of creating equally competitive teams. There are no "cuts" for the Club program though there is a maximum number of boys that can be accommodated due to gym space limitations, so sign up early!
**Times will be staggered to ensure an orderly and complete evaluation process and so players can report in groups of 10. Please call the League Director for the appropriate league if you have not received a tryout time two days prior to the date listed above. If you are not able to reach the League Director and have not been assigned an evaluation time by the time the evaluation date arrives, please report to the appropriate evaluation location for your age group on one of the scheduled nights for that age group between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m., for a 20 minute evaluation. Please do not report more than 10 minutes early for your scheduled time. Your child should wear basketball shoes. Please do not bring a basketball. Please see the Sample Evaluation Plan to get an idea of what to expect during the evaluations. The evaluations will differ somewhat for each age group.
The club program bases age on calendar year birthdays, so for example the 8 year old league is for boys with birthdays in 1995 (with some 1996s allowed space available); the 9/10 year old league is for boys with birthdays in 1994 and 1993, etc. The Select league bases age based on a year from December 1 through November 30, thus boys with December birthdays may elect to play with the younger age group for select.
