Green Hornets Boys' Club Basketball Program The Boys' Basketball Club program exists to provide local community youth between the ages of 8 and 18 an opportunity to develop an appreciation of sportsmanship in a team and league environment while getting exercise and developing basic basketball skills. The emphasis of the Club program is on player development and fun. The Club program has four competitive leagues divided up by age group. The basketball program determines league placement based on the following bracketing. Your son’s age as of 9/1/2007 generally determines placement in the leagues.
The Club Basketball program is not intended for the youngest players or as a clinic program with lowered baskets and significantly altered rules. In our area, the Severna Park Recreation Association and possibly Elvaton Recreation have leagues for the younger players if that is of interest to you
We accommodate 600 boys in the Club program. All players are evaluated and teams are then formed either through a draft process or independently in an attempt to form equally competitive teams. Click here to view the typical evaluation process. These teams typically play an 8-to-10 game schedule with a postseason tournament. In order for the League Directors and coaches to better disseminate information about their teams and the leagues, we have created on-line "communities" for each of the Club leagues. There you will find schedule information, game results and standings, and the latest news from the League Director. Click the appropriate link below to visit one of the on-line communities. These communities are normally updated as teams are formed for the year so the information in them currently may be from last season.
