Dear Green Hornet Member Families:
As everyone knows, we are in tough economic times and things we take for granted have become more and more expensive. The Green Hornet organization is no different. Our costs have increased over the last ten years in fuel, insurance, equipment, and field maintenance, which is the total responsibility of the Green Hornets (we presently are responsible for 19 baseball/softball diamonds and 18 multipurpose fields); yet, we have not raised our family fee in twelve years. Like most non-profit organizations, we are asked to do more with less...but always knowing we want the best for the children and families who participate in Green Hornet sports.
Add to this increased user fees now charged to Green Hornets to rent gyms and fields from the county and other private organizations to meet the needs of our ever-expanding athletic needs, and it becomes necessary for an increase. Our organization is also faced with the challenge of developing new field opportunities within our community - but all of that takes time and money.
